NCCAP National Exam

NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, please call the NCCAP office if you need additional time to take the National Exam.

As required by national credentialing authorities NCCA and ICE, the NCCAP National Exam is administered by an independent 3rd-party testing company.  In addition to the other requirements for NCCAP Certification, an individual is required to submit Certificates of Completion for both MEPAP 1 and 2 in order to register to take the National Exam.

NCCAP uses the 3rd-party testing company Prometric which requires NCCAP to collect a $90 exam fee from each exam taker. Please note that the Initial Certification Application and Level Change Application for ADC include the $90 exam fee in both the online and PDF applications.

After payment, NCCAP informs Prometric and a code with instructions is emailed by Prometric to you that allows you to register to take the National Exam.

Those applying for Level Change who are exempt under previous standards or have already taken the National Exam are not required to pay the exam fee.

Students who want to take the National Exam but are not ready for a Level Change should contact the NCCAP Office to request an exam application to pay the $90 exam fee. After payment, a code with instructions is emailed by Prometric to the student.

  • NOTE: the exam must be taken within 60 days of receiving the code from Prometric.
  • The NAAP Study Guide is available for purchase and is recommended for the exam.
  • The cost of the exam is $90.

  • Be sure to check the time you reserve to make sure it’s the morning or evening depending on what you want.
  • Try to use a laptop with a camera, as you have to show the online proctor the room you are sitting in by turning the computer around and you cannot do this with a desktop computer.
  • If you have to use a desktop computer instead of a laptop, you will need to use mirrors to show the proctor the room you are sitting in.
